Friends Marine Program Assistant, Jess Newley, is in the initial stages of creating a virtual reality (VR) film for students which highlights herring, salmon, orca, and the scientists working to conserve them. The goal is to immerse the students underwater with the subjects and connect them in a new way, while exposing them to career opportunities in science and technology. If you are interested in this program, register to be on our list for the project launch notification!
This project is partially grant funded. We are seeking additional private funding. If you are interested in looking below the surface of our Salish Sea, educating our next generation, sharing the science and work behind the challenges we face, please contact Michel at michel@sanjuans.org.
